The exhibition Mikro/Nano at the Expo 2000 in Hannover demonstrated the effect of micro and nano technology on today´s everyday life. At three interactive terminals visitors could go on informative journeys to twelve diminutive components of recent engineering. With a touch of their finger the viewers could zoom through many scales into dimensions that we can only sense via electron microscopes. In this process solid entities dissolve to line graphical lines before the tour continues within the next unit scale. Micro sensors of an automobile, units for global signal transmission and finally some modules of a newly developed miniature chemical plant were introduced in detail as in context. At the end of each voyage an animation described the technical system´s functionality.
